Board Members Orientation Training - Position Notification Requirements After Approval by the Governor
If a position of OPPOSE or OPPOSE UNLESS AMENDED is adopted:
The author of the bill, as well as the chair of the committee in which the bill will be heard, must be notified by letter of that position no less than 5-7 days prior to the hearing.
If the time interval between the date the measure appears in the Daily Journal (a legislative publication available online), and the hearing date is in less than 5-7 days, the author must be informed of the position verbally and be sent immediate written confirmation.
A NEUTRAL or SUPPORT position does not require immediate notification.
